Dr. Zenor Receives 2007 Alumni Undergraduate Teaching Excellence Award

Announcement adapted from Auburn Magazine, Fall 2007

Dr. Phillip Zenor recently received a 2007 Alumni Undergraduate Teaching Excellence Award.  Dr.  Zenor is a longtime mathematics professor in the College of Sciences and Mathematics.   In addition to being a textbook author and an organizer of the mathematics department’s online high school mathematics program, Dr. Zenor has been involved in the TEAM-Math project as a presenter, liaison, and member of the professional development, teacher preparation, and core planning teams.

He was nominated for the teaching excellence award by numerous former students, one of whom wrote, “He was very enthusiastic about the beauty of mathematics, and he imparted that enthusiasm to us.  He loved to solve a good problem, and he was even more delighted when we did.”  When congratulated on his achievement during a TEAM-Math core planning meeting, Dr. Zenor said, “Of all the awards I could win, this is the one that would have meant the most to me.”
